I changed my mind, I don’t need the product!

What are LEDs?

The light emitting diodes (LEDs) are light sources made of a semiconductor material. The colour of light emitted by the diode depends on the composition of the semiconductor material. LEDs emit incoherent narrow spectrum light. The spectrum of the light ranges from infrared to ultraviolet.

I’d like to use LEDs in a car, what do I need for it?

If you’d like to use 3mm, 5mm or SMD LEDs, then you need a current limiting resistor.
If you’d like to use Power LEDs, then it’s recommended to use a current generator.
A LED strip can be connected directly to a car’s electric system.

Where can I cut the 5m LED strip and how should I connect the cut piece?

LED strips can be cut by 3 LEDs, and the cut pieces have to be connected in parallel.

Is it really necessary to use a resistor to operate the LEDs?

Be sure to limit the current flowing through the LEDs. This can be done by a resistor or a current generator. For 3mm, 5mm and SMD LEDs the use of resistors is recommended, for higher power LEDs you have to use a current generator.

Can I use resistors to set the current for Power LEDs?

It’s possible, but you have to choose the correct W number for the resistor. We do not recommend this possibility, since the resistor will generate a considerable amount of heat, so the LEDs will lose their otherwise excellent energy efficiency.

How should I connect LEDs to the output of the current generator?

Normally, in series. In a special case, when the same kind of Power LEDs are cooled in the same way, you can connect them in parallel.

What is the maximum number of LEDs that can be connected in series if I have a stable 12V power supply?

This depends on the initial voltage of the LEDs, so you can connect maximum 3 or 4 in series. Keep in mind to use power limiting resistors!

Can I connect different coloured LEDs in series if they have the same current?

Yes.

Can I connect LEDs in parallel?

If they are completely the same then yes. In the case of Power LEDs be sure to cool them in the same way!

The maximum current at 12V doesn’t flow through the LED strip!

The maximum current, as its name shows, is the absolute maximum. If you’d like to make the best of the LED strip, you’ll need a controllable power supply. You can find multiple output power supplies in the webshop. To set the maximum current raise the voltage until you get the maximum voltage flowing through the LEDs (it can be found in the description).

The 5m LED strip’s light is somewhat dimmer at the end compared to the beginning!

This is really the case. At the end of the LED strip the voltage is 1V less than at the beginning. This causes a slight brightness loss. If this is a problem, you should create an additional voltage input at the end. This way the LED strip gets voltage from both ends.

How many LED strips can be connected one after the other?

We do not recommend connecting the LED strips one after the other, because you’ll experience brightness loss. Make a separate voltage input for each of the LED strips. In practice this means that you’ll need a power-supply voltage cable in parallel with the LED strip. Be sure that the power-supply cord has the appropriate thickness! We recommend a minimum 0,75mm copper wire cord.

Is it possible to connect flashing LEDs in series?

N No. Flashing LEDs contain a tiny IC that needs fix power supply. If you connect several flashing LEDs in series, the power supply will jump up and down and the LED won’t be able to work properly.

If I put several flashing LEDs side by side, will they flash at the same time?

No. Flashing LEDs cannot be synchronized to each other; they will flash at different times.

Az What does common anode means with RGB LEDs?

Az The 5mm RGB LEDs have 4 legs. Since there are 3 LED diodes in an RGB LED, so there should be 6 legs – but for simplicity it has its positive and negative polarity legs separately connected in the plastic case. So these kinds of LEDs have a common leg. We call it a common anode LED if this is the positive polarity leg.

Can I connect RGB LEDs in series?

You can only connect LEDs in series that have all its 6 legs out. This only true for Power LEDs and some SMD RGB Leds, so you cannot connect 5mm RGB LEDs in series.

Questions relating to the webshop

Do you have all products on stock?

If you see the product in the webshop, then it’s really on stock.

Last month you had XY product, now I cannot find it!

It’s possible that the product ran out of the stock. You can buy it if it arrives.

When do I get the ordered product?

The international postal deliveries take a long time. 5 to 14 woring day is the average delivery time in the European Union. If you make your payment by bank transfer, then the date is calculated from the arrival of the money.

What happens if my package is lost?

Although none of our packages was lost permanently, but if this happens, we resend your package or you can ask for a complete refund of the price. We can send the tracing number on request. With the help of this you can find out what happened to your package at your local post office.

Is it possible to buy XY product cheaper? I saw on ebay, in another shop, at a friend, etc. for a much less price.

No, you cannot buy it cheaper. Our company officially imports the products and pays all the contributions and VAT to the state, which is not little. We don’t want to compete in price with products that arrived illegally to EU.

I’d like to buy in bulk or become a reseller.

We would be glad to have you as a reseller. Send us an email and we send the conditions. We can offer better prices for our resellers.

What I ordered is not what I got!

Please accept our apology for the inconvenience. Inform us as soon as possible and we resend your order.

I changed my mind, I don’t need the product!

If the package has not been shipped, then there is no problem. Please inform us and we cancel your order. If the product has been shipped, you can refer to your legal right of withdrawal within 8 days, so you can send the product back without any comment. The customer should be responsible for the cost of sending the product back in any case – see the relevant part of the legislation. We cannot accept the sending back of cash on delivery products! If the products have arrived we send the price back to you. If the 8 days have passed since the arrival of the product, write us an email and we discuss what to do.
